I was tempted to talk to Zdzisław Olejniczak, a program specialist of the Provincial Branch of ZOSP RP in the Opolskie Voivodeship. I was curious why the Fire Department buys so many foggers. As you might have guessed, the purchase was due to the need for equipment to fight the coronavirus. Mr Olejniczak stated that his unit was looking for devices that would be able to decontaminate large rooms and at the same time meet quality and technical standards.

We won the entire procedure and delivered a dozen or so powerful JetBio foggers for the Fire Brigade. The devices, as confirmed by Mr. Olejniczak, went to field units - Volunteer Fire Brigades in the Opolskie Voivodeship. They are used there to fog first contact tents set up in front of hospitals, fire stations and fire engines. Sometimes even firefighters decontaminate school common rooms after classes are over.

Volunteer fire brigades units fulfill various roles. Operating in their area, they actively participate in activities supporting the prevention of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I learned that sometimes they even help transport the elderly for vaccinations. Field units are closest to the population in a given area and thus they can react the fastest. That's why it's really worth supporting the Volunteer Fire Brigade!
